Speedway tiles are made of a high impact, polypropylene copolymer - a strong plastic material that repels dirt, grime and other elements. As a non-porous material, it is highly resistant to stains or blemishes so ongoing care and maintenance typically requires only periodic cleaning.
General Cleaning Tips
For the dust and dirt that has collected over time, Speedway recommends a dust mop for the light touch-and-go projects. These work especially well for dark colored tiles as they can be deceptively dusty, and it may not be visible until it is picked up. A soft bristled broom will work in place if a dust mop is unavailable.
While brushes are effective for light dusting, heavier projects requiring more extensive cleaning will benefit from the use of a shop-vac. We recommend using the brush attachment to avoid scratching any of the tiles.
To remove scuff marks, grease or black tire marks, we recommend using a streak-free, ammonia-based floor cleaner, like Windex or Mr. Clean. Avoid foaming agents because they will trap dust in the spaces between tiles and increase how often you sweep. Deck brushing or hand buffing the remaining stubborn scuff marks is the best option. If there are still deep marks, add a few drops of solvent to your cleaning agent.
